The day old peeps arrive in the mail. You wouldn't think there are 52 chickens in there, but there are!
These are Cornish Cross chickens bred specifically for meat.
After three weeks in the brooder, they move out to the portable shelters in the pasture where they will be moved to fresh grass every day.
Mike serves up the evening custom mixed feed.
These birds grow fast! Five weeks ago they were the little peeps in that box at the top of the page!!
And here they are at 10 weeks, processed and ready to go out to our customers.
(Please note: Chickens processed for our customers are packaged in food-grade plastic bags - not vacuum packed. The vacuum packed chickens in this picture are for our own use.)
