Are we Certified Organic?
The federal organic standard is just now becoming law.  The words "Certified Organic" now belong to the government and they are not allowed to be used unless the government comes in and certifies that farms meet the guidelines that have been set forth. The certified organic regulations guide what  animals are fed and what chemicals may or may not be used (in the growing of the feed and on the animals directly).   It also regulates what chemicals are allowed to be used on garden produce and crops.

While we are considering  the government regulations to become certified, we are not currently "certified organic" (meaning we are not regulated by the government) and do not use "certified organic" feed. However, we do not use any chemicals on our animals or garden, and we provide our livestock with only high quality feed specially mixed at a local mill.

Most importantly, our animals eat the fresh green grass and natural foods found in our pastures where no chemical fertilizers are used.  The animals fertilize the grass naturally.  :-)

We do not use antibiotics, growth hormones, chemical pesticides or other chemicals on our animals, and we do not use chemical fertilizers or insecticides on our garden.  With our production model, we don't need these things to have healthy, clean and happy animals and all natural chemical free fruits and vegetables.
