Ordering and Availability
Most of our natural meats here at Providence Pastures Farm need to be ordered in advance.  Since we use a USDA inspected processor for our beef, pork and lamb, we are permitted by law to sell individual cuts of meat from the farm.  Any available meat that has not been pre-ordered is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

BUYING GROUPS:

Want to buy Farm fresh meat but can't use a half or whole yourself?  Consider joining or forming a buying group.  Talk to your friends and neighbors to see if they would be interested in chicken, pork, beef or lamb and then place your order together.  Each of you will be able to customize your order with the butcher (up to 4 orders per beef or 2 for pork and lamb) while saving $$ on your meat bill.  If you are interested in this option, but don't know anyone else who is, please contact us and we may be able to put you in contact with someone in your area.    Buying Groups are cost effective because those in the group can carpool for pick up at the farm or designate one person in the group to pick up all the orders, saving gas and time.  For large orders, delivery may be an option.  Please ask if you are interested.

Free-Range, Farm-fresh Eggs are available year-round at the farm for $2.00/dozen.

CHICKENS:

We process chickens the second Saturday of each month from June through September.  Since we order our chicks based on the number of orders we have, orders for chickens need to be placed in advance.

When ordering chickens, please specify the quantity desired and which date you would like to pick up your chickens at the farm.  On the specified Processing Days, live chickens are processed in the morning, chilled and available for pick-up between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you prefer smaller or larger chickens, you might want to arrive early.  We will try to have a few "extra" chickens available on Processing Days for those who might want additional chickens at pick-up, again, first come, first served.  Please remember that chickens are chilled, but not frozen, so if it is a warm day or if you are driving a distance, you may want to bring a cooler to keep your chicken fresh.

If you have an unexpected emergency and can not honor your commitment to pick up your order on your chosen processing day, please call as soon as possible to let us know and make other arrangements.  Chickens not picked up or rescheduled will be made available to other customers.

PORK:

Custom processed pork will be available several times a year and must be pre-ordered.  You may buy a half or whole pork, or a Variety Pack.  . The processing fee as well as the cutting, packaging and wrapping fee is all included in the price.  If you've priced bacon, ham, chops and other pork products at your local grocery store lately, you'll know this is a great deal and it's better for you!  Pork (whole and half) will be cut to your specifications, wrapped and frozen.

Individual cuts of pork will be available for sale at the farm in the freezer (subject to availability, of course).

BEEF:

Beef will be available as per the dates listed on the order form and may be purchased in quarters, halves, or whole beeves.  Hanging weights are typically 75 to 125 lbs./quarter.  Pastured beef is far superior in quality to the beef you'll find available commercially!

Beef (Halves and Quarters) will be cut to your specifications, wrapped and frozen.

Individual cuts will be available at the farm in limited quantities.

NOTE:  If you have never ordered bulk meat before, please read the information here before ordering.

PICK/UP and DELIVERY:

We prefer you come to the Farm to pick up your order so you can see how we operate.  Bring the family and make a day of it: see the farm, see the animals, enjoy the view of the Allegheny foothills in the distance and rest and rejuvenate in the peaceful countryside.

Delivery is available for large orders.  Please contact us to discuss this option.

To order, please print the order form, fill it out and mail or fax it to us or you may choose to call or email us your order.  Payment by cash or check is due at pick up.
